Bike Generator Community Engagement

I designed and constructed a bike generator capable of powering a lightbulb to raise awareness about green energy, encourage community members to save energy, and inspire children to pursue sustainability and engineering.
At a public park, I showcased my bike generator, informative poster and website, and interactive survey as a 100in1Day urban intervention. My booth attracted members of the public and allowed me to engage people in sustainability discussions.
Moving forward, I am reaching out to McMaster to widely implement bike generators into their fitness centre.

A huge thank you to the technicians at the McMaster Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop, John Colenbrander, Michael Lee, Mark MacKenzie, and Rob Sluban, for their equipment and expertise. Additional thanks to Peter Topalovic, Abbie Little, and Juby Lee for their mentorship and guidance in sustainability at McMaster and Hamilton. I could not have done this without you.
